Software Testing at Startups
This year I have a couple of talks lined up where I'll be talking about testing at startups. I addition to those talks, I'll also be doing some writing on the topic. Over the last year I've had the pleasure of getting to work with several startups locally, but I'd really like to know what others are encountering. I'm also trying to get different perspectives on testing at startups. I've perceived a disconnect between how testers think about testing and how developers and founders think about testing.

To that end, I've put together the following survey. It's two pages, but the second page is a bit involved. You'll likely need to set aside around fifteen minutes if you really want to take it. (Lots of text fields.) All the data will be made public, but individual responses will remain anonymous. I appreciate any help you can provide, by either taking the survey or sending it out to others whom you feel might be interested.

ASPE Training Courses
I'm happy to announce that I've partnered with ASPE to deliver on-site and online training for software testing. Currently, we've partnered for three courses:

  • Fundamentals of Software Testing

  • Web Testing Fundamentals

  • Test Automation Workshop

I'm currently finalizing materials for each course, but we have dates already set for 2011. Checkout the events page to see where I'll be throughout 2011. If you're interested in details on any of those courses, or my two or three-day Exploratory Testing Practicum, drop me a note at mike@michaeldkelly.com.
